2021 February: Calendar System & UI Polish


Dear candidates,

It has been a while since the last devlog. After taking a much-needed rest, I am now back to give you updates on what I've been working on. For the past month, I focused on creating a Calendar System and some pixel art assets. Meanwhile, Puzxle focused on refining the rest of the menus and UI elements.

As you can see, there's a lot in store for you in the coming demo update. My plan to finish all the content for the demo update by March. If not, I'll try to release it in the first week of April. I can't wait to share it with you!

The travel system in Lawmage Academy reminds me of a fast travel system I'm using with Yanfly's Common Event menu where you can travel between locations by talking to an NPC although it's more harder these days since the plugin is no longer free. I'm guessing the game will have a time and calendar system similar to some open world RPGs.

Exactly! I'm using Yanfly's Common Event menu for the travel system, party invite, and class selection. It's such a flexible plugin!

The time system is similar to Persona where you have a day and night phase. As for the calendar system, it's 19 days free time with the 20th day being a story quest.

Glad to see the project (and you!) are alive and moving in a direction. Radio silence is always a thing of concern, but so is suffering from burnout. It takes a lot of effort to be mindful of both. The struggles of an indie developer.

That is very true. Burnout is something that everyone must learn how to manage and cope with. With these devlogs, I hope to stay connected with everyone and assure you all that the project is here to stay! Hoho~
